The International Travel benefit is managed by Europe Assistance SA. The benefit covers emergency medical expenses incurred as a result of an unexpected illness or injury during an international journey or when you back at home.
The Ingwe option and benefits only allows access to treatment in South Africa and you can not use your Ingwe benefits in your country.
Normally, international emergency cover would only be available for 90 days after leaving South Africa (SA). However, since these are extraordinary circumstances, we have decided to extend your cover until the SA borders reopen and the travel bans are lifted for you to return and resume your studies
Medical Emergency: An acute injury or illness that poses an immediate risk to a person's life or long term health. Treatment is provided in an accident & emergency department (A&E), emergency room (ER) or casualty department.
R5 million emergency medical cover (including repatriation, evacuation and transportation)
R300 000 terrorism extension cover
A R1 300 co-payment (levy) applies per emergency claim
